Bear and Lion Hunting is our passion

Following after a pack of well trained hounds can be one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, experiences that you will ever have the opportunity to participate in. Our houndsmen have some of the best hounds in the state and can find success in snow or dirt. Cougar season lasts from November until the end of April. While hunting in the snow is the most effective way to find lion, hunting in the dirt can be one of the most rewarding methods of hunting with hounds. Trucks, ATV's, and snowmobiles are typically used in these hunts, all provided by Apex. Utah Cougar tags are acquired either through the draw process, or over the counter.

When the weather turns a little warmer and bears start wandering out of their dens, our attention turns to them. While much of a cougar hunt is spent training a lion until its jumped, bears are typically exactly the opposite. Once a bear is jumped, oftentimes it will run for miles and miles until the dogs exert enough pressure to put him up a tree, or bay him on the ground offering the hunter a chance to sneak in and harvest the animal. If you've never experienced the thrill of listening to dogs strike on a bear of cougar track, give us a call! These are memories that are truly priceless!
